Olive Kids established its orphan sponsorship program when it was founded in 2007.
The program started in collaboration with an East Jerusalem nursery – Emleson, and in 2010 with Al- Amal Institute for Orphans in Gaza, which has been the main focus in recent years. Gaza has seen a high number of orphaned children as a result of the frequent Israeli hostilities on the strip since 2008.
