Olive Kids facilitates a range of educational projects and activities in Palestine. These cover various areas, including health education, soft-skills webinars and supporting new educational infrastructure. The remote nutrition education program with Al-Amal Orphanage in Gaza is where the staff and cooks at the orphanage are guided on the most effective nutrition for the children. This includes the regular menu, cooking practices and addressing any nutrition misunderstandings.
Medically, Olive Kids has enabled medical education and skills transfer through regular missions involving reputable Australian surgeons and medical practitioners. In addition to the medical seminars delivered as part of the missions, the conducted procedures always involve an education component through narration and explanation of the work and steps. To date, Olive Kids missions exposed tens of practitioners in Palestine to Australian professors and experienced health workers. Olive Kids has sponsored infrastructure to enable improved education practices. This includes the purchase of 4 interactive whiteboards to help improve educational offerings at the Al-Amal orphanage in Gaza.
Olive Kids conducts remote education sessions online, by leveraging readily available technologies and freeware Desktop Sharing Software, covering topics such as health, languages and soft skills. Further to this, Olive Kids introduces the partners to professional operational practices like minute taking, action follow up and basic project management and budgeting techniques.
